The challenges of the project
An original 1960s bathroom featuring 1-inch by 2-inch tile on the floor and halfway up the walls and a cast iron tub. Bulkheads above the vanity and tub and half-wall created an enclosed feeling. The homeowner did not want to replace the cast iron tub so it required a new paint job.
The result of the project
With the removal of the bulkheads and half-wall, coupled with updated recessed lighting created a more inviting space for guests to comfortably use. The new countertop cabinet allowed for additional storage with an outlet inside the cabinet for electric toothbrushes, hair dryers, etc. to be plugged in out of sight. The gorgeous 12-inch by 24-inch tile was highlighted with a glass mosaic border tile that was incorporated into the new shower niche.
